Our Mission

The Greater Durham Black Chamber of Commerce (GDBCC) is a nonprofit organization whose primary goal is to invest in the growth and development of the Black entrepreneur, the Black business and the Black business ecosystem. Our vision is Black economic freedom. We execute our mission via our 5 pillars of service; advocacy, access to capital, access to contracts, entrepreneurial training, and ecosystem development.

Chamber Events

The GDBCC hosts many events that are designed to support Black business growth and development. These events include Critical Conversations, the Black Business Gala, Black Business Week, Connect, and much more. We hope to see you at an upcoming event.

Economic Development

For many years, the norms, concerns, challenges, fears, and wishes of the Black business community have not been a factor in Durham's economic development. The GDBCC is working hard to change this, seeking to serve as a key representative in Durham County economic development planning. This is a key part of economic equity that has been denied thus far.

Workforce Development

The GDBCC plays a key role in workforce development efforts, working not only to ensure that our citizens are being prepared for jobs of the future, but also working to ensure that resources are being deployed to support the jobs of today.
